Look up your car's VIN for open safety recalls twice a year

Added

Enter your 17-character VIN (or license plate) in NHTSA's free recall lookup to see unrepaired safety recalls on your vehicle, and sign up for recall email alerts. If you drive rideshare, an open recall is worth finding before the car is out of service at a bad time.

The result

Result: NHTSA: recall repairs are free at the dealer; manufacturers must mail registered owners within 60 days of notifying NHTSA, and NHTSA advises checking for recalls twice a year.
