Scout travel runs with Strava's Global Heatmap
Added
Before a trip, open Strava's Global Heatmap, zoom to your destination, and look for the lines where people actually run or walk. Then save or draw a route along those corridors. Check Strava's help page for current access and sport filters, and use daylight and common sense on unfamiliar routes.
The result
Result: The heatmap shows where recorded activity is concentrated, so you can find popular paths and trails without local knowledge.
